VPG To Showcase Vishay Foil Resistor And Alpha Electronics Products At 2011 NCSL International Workshop And Symposium
Malvern, PA (Marketwire) - Vishay Precision Group, Inc. (NYSE: VPG) today announced that it will be demonstrating Vishay Foil Resistor (VFR) and Alpha Electronics brand measurement products at the 2011 National Conference of Standards Laboratories (NCSL) International Workshop and Symposium, August 21-25 at the Gaylord National Convention Center in National Harbor, MD.
At booth 802 at the 2011 NCSL International Workshop and Symposium, VFR will be exhibiting its FRSM and VSMP wraparound surface-mount chip resistors based on the Z and Z1-Foil technologies. Both series offer exceptional load-life stability from 0.0025% at 70°C and rated power for 2,000 hours and 0.005% for 10,000 hours, tolerance to 0.01% and TCR of 0.05 ppm/°C from 0°C to +60°C. The devices' unique construction permits uniform heat dissipation and minimizes the effects of extreme environments. The resistors are noise-free and provide ESD protection of 25 kV or more for increased reliability.
In addition, VFR will showcase its H, HZ, and VHP series (including VHP100) of secondary standard, hermetically sealed, ultra-high-precision Z-Foil resistors featuring a low-stress construction and shelf-life stability of 2 ppm (0.0002%) for at least six years (unaffected by humidity). Oil-filled and hermetic, the devices feature low typical TCR of 0.05 ppm/°C from 0°C to +60°C, stability to 0.002% at +25°C and rated power for 2,000 hours, and resistance tolerance starting from 0.001%. The resistors' hermetic sealing eliminates the ingress of moisture and oxygen, while the oil acts as a thermal conductor.
The hermetically sealed resistor series offers an immediate answer to many challenging resistor applications previously thought to be unsolvable, including resistance standards, feedback devices for operational amplifiers, precision voltage dividers, meter multipliers, precision bridge resistors, and decade voltage dividers. As a result, the devices open entirely new areas of design where the use of resistors had not been considered.
Alpha Electronics brand products on display will include the new ADR-3204GR and ADR series of programmable decade resistor boxes. The ADR-3204GR offers high accuracy of 0.01% and TCR or 5 ppm/°C or less in a compact design with dual GB-IB and RS232C interfaces. The ADR series provides high accuracy of 0.005%, TCR of 5 ppm/°C or less, and storage-life stability of 50 ppm or less per year.
VPG will also be demonstrating the Alpha Electronics HRU and ASR series of next-generation ultra-stable and compact air resistor standards. The HRU series features stress-free metal technology for improved long-term stability of less than 0.05 ppm/year. The ASR series of primary air resistor standards offers long-term stability of resistance of less than 3 ppm/year and a low TCR of less than 0.2 ppm/C.
