Leveraging web-based HPC for motor design and analysis

Montreal, Quebec (PRWEB) - Infolytica Corporation announces the launch of MotorSolve Online, the cloud version of the company’s electric motor design software. This new subscription service is for electric machine designers interested in rapidly modeling & performing finite element analysis (FEA) simulations to predict motor performance.

MotorSolve Online is a “software as a service” website for synchronous motor (brushless AC/DC, permanent magnet AC) and induction motor designers. This cloud-based motor design software offers flexible subscription terms and can be accessed from any computer with an internet connection. There is no software to install and update. First time users can sign up instantly.

The simulations are highly accurate since the same automated FEA engine which powers the desktop version of MotorSolve is used by this service. All of this is done in the cloud with powerful HPC machines.

The service is accessible via any recent web browser. The template interface makes it easy to input the motor specifications (e.g.: number of slots/ poles, OD, iron depth, magnet size, teeth, slots, etc.). The winding calculator automatically determines and ranks all balanced windings for the user to select from. Alternatively, they may manually input the values for a custom winding layout.

MotorSolve Online has an extensive materials database of conductors, magnets and steels with measured property values (magnetic permeability, electric conductivity, mass density, etc.) provided by their manufacturers.

All the motor performance charts & field plots are computed online. These include cogging torque, back EMF, torque vs speed, losses, current, flux density and many more.

MotorSolve Online features an integrated reporting tool. Reports can be printed or saved as a PDF. Motor designs and reports are stored online for easy access.
