Mustang is an automated, standard cell based datapath design environment that takes Verilog or EDIF netlists as input and generates structured placement files for industry-standard P&R and floorplanning tools. Mustang automatically recognizes extracts and optimizes datapath elements and random logic from your netlist. Mustang then creates a placement file that dramatically improves P&R results for structured elements, reducing wire length by up to 50 percent.
Interactive features for bit-stack extraction and placement allow control over layout necessary for high-performance design engineers who design complex DSPs, CPUs, graphics or communications chips. With more manual control, designers can squeeze even more out of their designs while still employing the time saving automated features that make Mustang so powerful.
