The NTP series of polymer/tantalum electrolytic capacitors from NIC Corp. is available in values from 3.3uF/10 Vdc to 330uF/6.3 Vdc. The series uses a unique polymer cathode in place of a manganese dioxide to obtain ESRs as low at 0.04 ohms (100KHz/+20degreesC) and ripple current ratings from 880 mArms (iMHz/+20degreesC). The NTP series was designed for use in lower-voltage, high-current applications. This series is suitable as an alternative to low ESR tantalum or low impedance aluminum electrolytic styles. Prices range from $0.20 to $1.30 in production quantities.
