Miltope's Flash Memory (FM) line of solid state disk and flash disk storage solutions are unmatched in performance and offer the highest capacity and the fastest flash-based storage devices in the world. Furthermore, the FM Disk line has all the form, fit, and function characteristics of our standard hard disk drives (HDD), making them invaluable replacements for conventional rotating storage media where extreme environmental parameters preclude the use of rotating media.

FM Disks have superior advantages over other storage solutions in these areas: exceptional performance, high reliability, longevity, and scalability. Due to the use of FlashBus technology, the FM-512 delivers 10 MB/sec burst read and write rates, over 9 MB/sec sustained read and write rates, and <0.7 ms system access time. They are completely bootable and no installable device drivers are required. Storage capacities range from 128 MB to an unprecedented 9742 MB of flash storage devices. These flash disk and solid state disk storage solutions contain no moving parts which are the primary cause of failures and electro-mechanical delays in conventional rotating media.

The all electronic FM series solid state disk and flash disk drive storage solutions are robustly packaged in a 3.5" form factor and configured for Fast SCSI-2 and SCSI-1 single-ended implementation. High-technology proprietary schemes, such as EDC and sophisticated interleaved Reed-Solomon ECC, dynamic remapping, novel wear-leveling, and fully associative caching, are optimized for use with flash memory and ensure increased data integrity, optimum system performance, and extreme device longevity.
