The AI-PCI/WAVE16 Wavelet Video Compression Board is a 16-input video capture device capable of supporting visually lossless to 350:1 real-time compression and decompression of CCIR-601 digital video at very high image quality levels. It is a PCI-compatible video encoder/decoder optimized for real-time compression and decompression of interlaced digital video. All features of the AI-PCI/WAVE16 are designed to yield high performance at a breakthrough systems-level cost. The AI-PCI/WAVE16 Wavelet Video Compression Board accepts NTSC or PAL analog video through the video interface and outputs a compressed bit stream through the PCI bus host computer while in encode mode. While in decode mode, the board accepts a compressed bit stream through the PCI bus host interface and outputs NTSC or PAL video through the video output interface. The host accesses all of the AI-PCI/WAVE16's control and status registers, using the host interface.
