Analog I/O Carrier Card
The VMEbus Analog input/output (I/O) Carrier Card (VMAC) is a 3U VME board that can be fitted with up to eight analog plug-in I/O modules. It was designed for the data acquisition and data processing market that requires a flexible I/O solution.
The core of the design is the 80C51 microcontroller that, on power up, senses which slots contain MAC modules, initializes the modules, and performs the required setup. All are then individually integrated and their last valid and buffered data is transferred to the on-board SRAM.
The card had 64 Kb SRAM for conversion data and 64 Kb FLASH for firmware. It is well suited for the demands of the industrial control environment. The standard unit operates from 0º C to +70º C, and the extended temperature variant from -40º C to +85º C.
