Chassis Assembly
PEP Modular Computers, Inc. has introduced a configurable 19-in. chassis assembly supporting malfunction spacing backplanes and pluggable power supplies.
The product comes equipped with a 6U CompactPCI backplane and power supply. Two configuration features are incorporated in the assembly: the first is a choice of two pluggable M-style power supplieseither a 3U 180 watt or 6U 270 watt unit. The second is an optional backplane divider kit. The kit snaps in to the backplane converting from 1-7 of the 6U CompactPCI slots to 3U slots.
The 6U 270 watt power supply is designated the CP6-SVE-M270-AC. It delivers 30A at 3.3 volts and 20A at 5 volts without an active blower. It also has -12 volts and +12 volts available. The 3U CP3-SVE-M180AC power supply provides 14A at 3.3 volts, along with +12 volts.
The CP-ASM6 accommodates CD-ROM, HDD and FDD peripherals. Hardware kits are available. The chassis complies with the IEEE specifications 1101.1, 1101.10 and P1101.11.
For applications with extreme thermal loading, a 7U version of the chassis is available, incorporating a 3-fan blower unit.
