A new adapter that provides a convenient, cost-effective method of converting Intel and other DIP devices or emulators to a PLCC device socket is now available from Aries Electronics, Inc., an international manufacturer of standard, programmed and custom interconnection products.

The new Aries Correct-A-Chip™ Adapter features a DIP top and socketable PLCC bottom. The DIP to PLCC adapter/emulator interface connects a 40 pin DIP device to a 44 pin PLCC. This jumperable adapter enables users to employ various 80CXX microprocessors and other IC devices that follow standard DIP to PLCC pinout configurations without having to implement expensive board design changes. To facilitate trouble shooting or debugging, the adapter brings out all DIP pins to the side of the adapter's plated through holes.

The new Aries PLCC adapter features gold shell and contacts. Pins are brass alloy 360 plated with 200µ "min over 100µ" min nickel.

Pricing for the new Correct A Chip DIP-to-PLCC adapter is $93.48 in quantities of 100. Delivery is four weeks A.R.O.
