GALIL DELIVERS NEW DMC-1416 SINGLE-AXIS MOTION CONTROLLER WITH INTEGRATED PWM AMPLIFIER
Latest Generation Controller Drives Brush or Brushless Motors

Mountain View, Calif., June 06, 2000- Galil Motion Control, a pioneer and innovator of motion control technology, introduces their new Econo Series of single-axis controllers which are packaged with an integrated PWM amplifier. The DMC-1416-Brush is capable of driving a brush-type motor at up to 12 Amps continuous, 60 volts; the DMC-1416- Brushless can power a brushless motor at up to 6 Amps continuous, 60 volts.

Featuring an extra encoder input for electronic gearing, program memory with multitasking and uncommitted I/O, the DMC -1416 can handle the most demanding applications. It provides both RS232 and Ethernet communications. The DMC-1416-Brush is priced at $995 in single quantity and $845 in quantities of 100; the DMC-1416-Brushless is $1095 in single quantity and $895 in quantities of 100.

"The foundation of Galil's Econo Series has always been to provide great value and performance in single axis controllers," stated Lisa Wade, Galil's vice president of marketing and sales. "Now with the addition of an integrated amplifier, we've added convenience."

Programming the DMC-1416 is simplified with two-letter, intuitive commands and a full set of software tools such as WSDK for servo tuning and analysis, ActiveX Tool Kit for Visual Basic users and a C-Programmers Tool Kit. Modes of motion include point-to- point positioning, jogging, contouring, electronic gearing and ecam.

About Galil

Founded in 1983, Galil Motion Control, Inc., was the first company to produce a microprocessor-based servo motion controller without tachometer feedback. Since the introduction of their first controller, they have continued to advance the technology and now have over 200,000 controllers installed worldwide and are known as the industry pioneer and leader. Following in this tradition, Galil was recently first to market with a motion controller designed for the USB, and most recently with their Ethernet-based standalone controller. Galil is a privately held company and has been profitable for over 60 consecutive quarters. Today, you will see Galil controllers at work in such applications as machine tools, manufacturing and testing, food processing, textiles and a wide range of test and measurement applications.
