DSP World Spring Design Conference: One-Stop Information Shop for Electronics Design Professionals
The DSP World Spring Design Conference, running April 21-23, 1998 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA, provides comprehensive updates on the latest digital signal processing technologies, such as new applications in automotive, industrial and consumer markets. The conference features an assortment of workshops -- each rated as introductory, intermediate or advanced - on topics that range from the use of DSPs in consumer applications, to software development issues and system-on-chip DSP solutions.
The conference opens on Tuesday, April 21 with four full-day tutorials. Topics include detailed examinations of Asymetic Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) applications, reviews of the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), and both introductory and advanced reviews of DSP technologies and microprocessor architectures
The second day of the conference features 45 individual technical sessions presented by an international faculty of 55 renowned engineers and researchers. Classes range from DSP basics -- with introductory instruction on digital communications, speech coding algorithms, and spread spectrum systems -- to advanced topics such as detection of hidden harmonics and error rate estimation. The day of classes wraps up with a keynote speech on the evolution of block-diagram design environments for DSP.
A two-part panel discussion on DSP architectures begins on Wednesday, April 22 and continues the following afternoon. A second discussion is slated for April 23 with engineers from Dolby Laboratories, Digital Theater Sound, Lucasfilm THX, and TMH Laboratories Inc., who will discuss current and future DSP applications for digital audio in the entertainment industry.
In addition to the extensive program of workshops and tutorials, the DSP World Spring Design Conference includes a product exhibition with venders offering the latest in processors, boards and development tools as well as DSP-based systems solutions.
