eDevicenc. has been launched to create and revolutionize the Light Internet Device market through the introduction of its new SmartStack technology which allows any device to access the Internet without the use of a PC.

With eDevice's SmartStackTM technology, users can connect any office, household or industrial equipment or system to the Internet to transmit and receive information, remotely access and interact with the equipment and send and receive e-mail. SmartStack is the first technology of its kind in the new Light Internet Device segment.

The unique innovation behind SmartStack technology is that for the first time, all the components required to allow Internet connectivity have been inserted on a single chip --a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) -- that costs only a few dollars. With SmartStack, the DSP contains:

  • a software-based modem required for the physical connection to the Internet;
  • the software protocols necessary to perform Internet transactions (e-mail sending or retrieving, FTP file download, single-page Web server); and
  • space to host the client application.

    eDevice, Inc. markets SmartStack, a new technology that allows any office or industrial equipment, consumer electronics device or household appliance or system to access the Internet at low cost and without the use of a personal computer, external modem or browser. SmartStack is the first technology of its kind in the new Light Internet Device segment.
