USAR Systems, Inc.IC, ACPITroller 342, acts as an 8042 human input device controller and an ACPI embedded controller. The Zero-Power device provides GPIO and one SMBus port for the connection of Smart Batteries and other smart devices. Its 8042 keyboard controller offers robust command of keyboard and mouse functions, including embedded key and motion scanning. The AlphaKey keyboard manager provides keyboard management functions, including matrix programming. The IC scans an 8 x 16 fully programmable keyboard matrix and supports all three keyboard scan code sets. It has typical power consumption of less than 1 µA for both PS/2 prots and the SMBus port. The controller can power down even when devices are connected and active. It also offers two external PS/2 ports for external keyboard and mouse, including those with MouseWheel.
