Flexible Light Pipe

Bivar, Inc.e Light Pipe Series from BivarOpto offers designers versatility in creating new products for SMD applications. The Light Pipes' flexible tubing, clad in flame-retardant UL rated material can extend to reach almost any LED location on the PCB, eliminating the need for expensive daughter cards and secondary PCBs.

Bivar, Inc.e Light Pipes (FLP) are suited for status indication applications where a distance is required between the LEDs and the display area. The new FLP Series is capable of carrying the full intensity of a SMD LED to virtually any front panel or display up to 100 feet away. Standard lengths range from 3in. to 48in. with custom lengths up to 100 feet.

Other features of the BivarOpto FLP series include a cleaner "white" look for aesthetic uniformity and higher color contrast. The proprietary lensing system developed by BivarOpto allows for broad 180 degree viewing angles. By isolating the emitter from the front panel, the new series also eliminated electro static discharge problems and the potential for system failure caused by direct contact with circuitry.
