Former Apple CEO, Gil Amelio, Joins Computer Sentry Software
Computer Sentry Software, Inc. (CSS) elected Dr. Gil Amelio to its board of directors. He has been chief executive officer of Apple Computer Corporation and National Semiconductor.
Amelio earned his Ph.D. in physics from the Georgia Institute of Technology. While CEO for National Semiconductor Corp. from 1991 to 1996, he increased the company's market capitalization by $4 billion. At Bell Laboratories, he was an inventor of the charged coupled device (CCD). At Fairchild Camera and Instrument Corporation, he developed the first charged coupled image sensor. The company also announced the granting of a Notice of Allowance of its patent application on the core technology and processes underlying its flagship product, The CyberAngel, by the U. S. Patent and Trademark Office.
The CyberAngel is a security program that provides protection and asset management for PCs, mobile computers and their accompanying data. It utilizes an"alert, lock, and locate" technology with a "real-time" tracking system for stolen computers. The CyberAngel EXR adds globally exportable, strong encryption to further protect confidential data.
