New Addition to GML 2032 Line Provides Low Loss, Leading Cost/Performance Ratio; Company Also Previewing Its Developmental GML 3160 Ultra Thin, Roll-To-Roll Laminate

SAN JOSE CONVENTION CENTER, BOOTH 524 (February 26, 2002) GIL Technologies, Inc., a world leader in cost-effective, high performance printed circuit substrates, today announced the pre-production release of a new 60 mil, low-loss circuit board laminate at Wireless Systems Design Conference and Expo 2002 in San Jose, CA. The new 60 mil product, an extension to GIL's GML 2032 product line, offers a significantly improved cost/performance ratio for a wide variety of microwave antenna and RF (radio frequency) uses.

Also at Wireless Systems Design Expo 2002, GIL is featuring its newest developmental product, the ultra thin GML 3160 roll-to-roll circuitry laminate. GML 3160, which will soon be available in thicknesses of 2.4, 3.1, 6.2 and 9.3 mils, is expected to enable a new generation of high-speed circuitry applications.

"Our new 60 mil GML 2032 laminate is a major addition to our 2000 Series products, offering manufacturers the best dB-per-dollar ratio on the market today," said John Gardner, Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing for GIL Technologies. "This heavyweight product offers an extremely flat dielectric constant over decades of frequency, the best thermal stability in its class, and a loss tangent less than 0.003 at 10 gigahertz."

GIL's new 60 mil product outperforms the company's earlier 60 mil GML 1032 material, and is priced aggressively to meet the demands of the evolving microwave marketplace. Its flat dielectric constant rivals much higher-cost ceramic materials, and is nearly isotropic in all three axes.

An inherently flame retardant material, the 60 mil GML 2032 can withstand more than three hours of harsh T-288 delamination testing, demonstrating its strong thermal stability. What's more, the circuit board material offers a low TcK', delivering greater flexibility to the designer, and can be fabricated and assembled using standard FR4 processes.

GIL Technologies plans to offer design samples the new 60 mil material in Spring of 2002.

Ultra Thin GML 3160 Developmental Product Showcased
GIL's GML 3160 roll-to-roll product addresses the need for smaller, thinner, and faster circuit board materials for next-generation high speed digital use. The product, part of GIL's new GML 3000 developmental series, provides exceptional data integrity in controlled impedance digital circuits, and is suitable for optoelectronic modules, high speed digital products, chip packaging substrates, flex materials, and more. It offers tight thickness tolerances despite its ultra thin (2 to 9 mil) design standards, and offers uniform dielectric performance over wide temperature, humidity, and frequency ranges.

GIL has validated the dielectric constant of its GML 3000 series products over frequencies up to 75 GHz. The product is currently undergoing Alpha site testing by a number of major OEMs and processing companies, with completion expected for sometime in April, 2002.

Samples of GML 3160 will be on display at the Wireless Systems Design Conference. The 3160 samples have been processed by TeknoFlex, a UK market leader in the design and manufacturer of flexible circuits using their high volume reel to reel production facility. TeknoFlex (www.teknoflex.com) is currently testing new designs based on the GML 3000 product line.
