Since our beginnings merely 3 years ago (1997) we have built a worldwide business expected to produce gross sales exceeding US$400 million this year. We have accomplished this feat with a clear and precise focus on Lithium ion (Li-ion) battery technology. We are the industry leader in technology, development and manufacturing of Li-ion prismatic rechargeable cells including patents pending in our manufacturing process.

GS-Melcotec Co., Ltd. is headquartered in Kyoto, Japan. Our company is formed through an international joint venture including Japan Storage Battery (flagship of the GS companies), Mitsubishi Electronics Corporation and SAFT. Our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility is producing millions of cells each month. Our R&D remains focused to keep our products on the leading edge of technology and develop new technologies for the future. Since 1997 we have gained the number one market share for prismatic Li-ion business in Japan. We have established our European corporate office in London and most recently opened our North American headquarters in Irvine, CA.
