ODU-USA, INC., a manufacturer of a wide range of interconnect products, announces a family of high-density surface mount (SMT) and miniature high-density IDC connectors. ODU-MINIFIX insulation displacement connectors (IDC) are mass-terminated to 0.025" center ribbon cable. They are designed to mate with ODU-MINCART SMT headers. Connectors have 0.050" (1.27 mm) by 0.100" (2.54 mm) grid spacing. Headers and sockets are available in several contact counts and board stacking heights to accommodate many interconnect requirements. Alignment pins and vacuum plates allow the use of automatic placement equipment. Typical applications are hand-held medical equipment, bar code readers, POS devices, and scientific instruments. Most connectors are available from stock.
