High Speed LVDS Cable
LVDS Applications
- Dual pixel, high resolution data transmission between host and flat panel display
Introducing SKEWCLEAR cabling
To meet flat panel display requirements of high crosstalk isolation and very low skew, we've developed a new concept in individually shielded differential pair cabling for use in high data rate applications.
Called SKEWCLEAR, this cabling features a patented manufacturing technology that corrects the causes of skew that creep into cables in the first place.
The design consists of individually shielded multiple parallel pairs which are laminated in a planar configuration to assure equal pair lengths. The flat cable pairs are bonded and then slit in a staggered fashion, enabling the cable to be flexibly cabled into a round format, yet keeping the same pair-to-pair physical length of a flat cable construction. Characteristic impedance is 100 ohms +/- 5 ohms.
As a result of this patented manufacturing approach, skew values are consistently reduced to within 4 picoseconds /ft within-pair and 10 picoseconds / ft pair to pair. Other cable technologies can yield very good skew performance with extreme care and craftsmanship. SKEWCLEAR, by virtue of its design, makes tight skew control consistent, repeatable, and easy.
