Inco Type 723 Powder is uniquely shaped: Type 123 Powder is a fine, discrete particle, highly pure form of nickel, developed through and produced by Inco's own technology. It is uniformly sized, with a typical variation of one micron or less in diameter. Its surface is deeply fissured, consisting of spiky, needle like, dendritic structures.

Type 123 Powder makes better parts: Simply put, Type 123 Powder makes better finished parts in PM applications needing uniformly dispersed nickel. The unique shape and small particle size makes Type 123 Powder ideal for mixing with other metal powders. The dendritic surface tenaciously binds with larger particles, essential for stable, homogeneous distribution in the powder prior to sintering. This leads to uniform diffusion during sintering, resulting in a proper balance of metallurgical structures. In addition, it complements the use of highly compressible iron powders, producing parts with superior densities as well as very high levels of hardness, tensile and impact strengths, improved fatigue properties, and increased corrosion resistance.
