California Micro Devices now has an analog CMOS operational amplifier in its product line-up. Priced at about 20-cents a pop in millions (pricing at time of publication), the Type CMC7101A is compatible with industry-standard 7101 low power op-amps such as the National Semiconductor LMC7101A.

However, the module offers a supply voltage capability of 2.7 V in a five-pin SOT-23 package. The amplifier is optimized for 3 V to 5 V applications and guarantees specs at 2.7 V. Drawing 300 uA from a 5 V supply, its rail-to-rail input and output (RRIO) op-amp has a 1 MHz gain bandwidth (GBW) spec and a 1 V/microsecond slew rate. Its common-mode input-range exceeds the rails by 300 mV, while the output can drive greater than 75 mA. At 600 ohms load, the output drives to within 100 mV of the rails, even at 2.7 V. Samples are available.
