Maruwa America Corporation

Thank you for your interest in MARUWA America Corporation. The origin of our ceramic capacitors goes back to 1961 when KCK Co. LTD was formed in Japan to manufacture ceramic disc capacitors. Production eventually included surface mount capacitors and EMI filters. The products were sold through a Chicago area office under the name KCK America Inc.

In June of 1986, Mitsubishi Mining & Cement Corporation purchased KCK Co., LTD. In 1990, Mitsubishi Mining & Cement Corp. merged with Mitsubishi Metals to form Mitsubishi Materials Corporation. The North American headquarters in the Chicago area was renamed MMC Electronics America Inc.

Mitsubishi Materials Corporation decided to sell off the ceramics division to MARUWA Ceramic Co., LTD, a company that also had a history in ceramic manufacturing for the electronics industry since 1973. The MARUWA America Corporation office officially opened 4/1/99 in Schaumburg, IL.
