NCD Acquires Tektronix Network Displays Business

Network Computing Devices, Inc. (NCD) announced that it has completed the acquisition of the Network Displays business unit of Tektronix, Inc. Details of the transaction were not disclosed. NCD is the industry's leading producer of thin client hardware and software, such as the fast-growing NCD ThinSTAR family of Windows-based terminals, which includes the first Intel-based "lean client." NCD is also the co-developer and manufacturer of IBM's top-selling Network Station.

Founded in 1988, Network Computing Devices Inc. provides thin client hardware and software that delivers simultaneous, high-performance, easy-to-manage access to any application from thin client, UNIX and PC desktops. In March of 1998, Intel made an equity investment and signed a three-year agreement with NCD to collaborate and produce Lean Client desktop devices.
