BRYTE has written a web-based purchasing package for this national chain of retail stores. The application helps the corporate purchasing department manage all capital projects being funded by Neiman Marcus.

  • This system consists of a Message Center where Neiman Marcus managers can post messages to employees, as well as post messages to vendors. Everyone can view vendor messages, but only employees can view employee messages.
  • In another section, all products purchased by the corporate purchasing departments are listed, along with the names of contact personnel.
  • In another section, managers can see how much has been spent in a particular cost center by viewing invoices organized by vendors and covering a specified time frame. Prospective vendors can see what products Neiman Marcus will purchase in the future and can submit a form online to receive contact information.
  • This application contains user security.
  • This application contains hit counters which enables managers to see how many people have gone to certain pages by date.

BRYTE hosts Neiman's webserver where files are exchanged via FTP (File Transfer Protocol) and parsed into a MSSQL database, which is then accessed through Neiman's Online Purchasing System. Since implementation, the application has had overwhelming acceptance by the company.
