The advanced VLIW engine of the 'C6203 executes up to eight instructions in a single 300 MHz clock cycle, delivering a combined peak processing capability of 9600 MIPS for the board. Powerful DMA controllers within the 'C6203 transfer data to SDRAM and peripherals over dual 32-bit external data busses at rates as high as 600 MB/sec.
The VIM architecture is a proven, high-performance mezzanine bus delivering extremely high-speed data transfers suitable for a variety of processors and board formats offering three types of interfaces. Four high-speed synchronous bi-directional FIFOs (Bi-FIFOs) support 32-bit parallel data transfers between the mezzanines and all four 'C6203s simultaneously at rates up to 300 MB/sec each. Two 75 Mbit/sec synchronous serial ports of each DSP are also brought to the mezzanine connectors. The EMIF bus of each C6203 provides memory-mapped control and status functions to the mezzanine circuitry.
