PLX Technology and Jungo Software Technologies Team to Provide Full Range of 66MHZ PCI Development Tools

Jungo's WinDriver Toolkit Bundled with PLX Rapid Development Kit; Combination Speeds 66MHz PCI Embedded Applications

PLX Technology, Inc., the leading supplier of high-speed interconnect silicon and software to the communications industry, and Jungo Software Technologies, Inc. a leading provider of driver development tools, today announced an agreement to include Jungo's WinDriver toolkit with two new PLX® Rapid Development Kits (RDKs), announced yesterday, for PLX's PCI 9056 I/O Accelerator chip. The combination of the new PLX PCI 9056RDK-LITE, CompactPCI 9056RDK-860 RDK and a fully functional 30-day evaluation version of the WinDriver v5.04 device driver development toolkit, provides system designers and software developers with a complete environment for developing high-performance 66MHz PCI and CompactPCI telecommunications and networking products based on the PCI 9056.

With the WinDriver v5.04, Jungo extends its broad support for PLX's family of PCI I/O Accelerator devices to include the 32-bit, 66MHz PLX PCI 9056. The software provides the tools to develop high-performance PCI device drivers for Microsoft® (NASDAQ: MSFT) Windows® 95/98/Me/2000/XP/NT and CE, Linux, Sun® (NASDAQ: SUNW) Solaris®, and Wind River Systems (NASDAQ: WIND) VxWorks® embedded operating systems.

Jungo's WinDriver software features a graphical development environment, intuitive application programming interfaces (APIs), hardware diagnostic services, debug utilities, and device driver samples. Additionally, it includes libraries of code customized for PLX PCI devices that provide pre-programmed registers, interrupt handling, and master/slave direct memory access to further accelerate driver development.

PLX Technology's PCI 9056RDK-LITE and CompactPCI 9056RDK-860 RDKs contain proven software and hardware building blocks to accelerate product development. PLX offers extensive host-side driver development software and local-side RTOS support and board support packages on its software development kit (SDK) CD-ROMs included in the RDK. Additionally, each RDK includes a fully functional board, complete design documentation and design files enabling a user to replicate all, or part of, the design.
