The PMC Module provides I/O expansion and flexibility by allowing customers to add a wide range of I/O interfaces to Cyclone's CompactPCI products. Cyclone's CompactPCI cards support two modules on each card. Designers can mix and match standard and custom modules to meet unique I/O requirements.

The PMC Module is an IEEE standard (IEEE 1386). The standard uses the PCI bus as an electrical standard providing 32 and 64 bit transfers at 33 MHz clock speeds. Cyclone has augmented the standard to support more than one agent on a PMC Module. The PMC locations are still compatible with the IEEE standard

PMC51 UltraSCSI (Fast-20 Wide)

The PMC51 module expands the I/O capabilities of its host board by providing one 16-bit UltraSCSI port. The module uses a Symbios 53C875 to support UltraSCSI transfer rates of 40 Mbytes/second. The PMC51 has been tested and qualified by Sun Microsystems for the SPARCengine™ CP 1500 product.

PMC52 Dual 10/100BaseTx Ethernet

The PMC52 has two 10/100BaseTx Ethernet ports. Both ports are fully supported with DMA channels in the LAN coprocessor. Each coprocessor autosenses and adapts to the 10 or 100 Mbit network rate.

PMC55 ATM OC-3 Interface

The PMC55 provides an ATM User Network Interface (UNI) to 155 Mbit/second fiber optical network. The PMC55 performs hardware segmentation and reassembly of ATM Adaptation Layer 5 (AAL5) and the Transmission Convergence (TC) sublayer for 155.52 Mbit/second SONET STS-3c.

PMC56 Ultra2 (LVD) SCSI

The PMC56 provides an Ultra2 (LVD) SCSI port that will auto configure the SCSI interface to run standard UltraSCSI or Ultra2 Low Differential SCSI if the devices on the bus are capable. Ultra2 SCSI provides data transfer rates of up to 80 Mbytes/second.

PMC57 RAID PMC Module

The PMC57 is a 64-bit RAID PMC Module that can be easily adapted to a large selection of single board computer hosts. The PMC57 off-loads the host processor and performs all RAID functions independent of the host processor by driving disk array controller functions like parity generation, RAID algorithms, striping algorithms and cache management . . . more

Custom PMC Modules
