N/Aattery energy saving technology capacitors) are a line of electromechanical super-capacitors based on rechargeable hydrogen ion solid state (RHISS) aqueous chemistry. Designed for high power pulsing in handheld and mobile communications equipment, in order to extend battery life, RHISS also is an environmentally friendly non-hazardous material. As a replacement for aluminum electrolytics, these caps offer over ten times the energy/unit-volume. They provide a combination of high capacitance and low equivalent series resistance (ESR)/unit-volume.
The polymer electrolyte system is capable of ultra-thin construction down to 0.7 mm with voltages from 1 V to 10 V. Initial evaluation samples have voltage specs of 5.5 V, capacitance specs between 60 and 200 milliFarads, and ESR values of 40 milliohms to 100 milliohms, depending on size. Price is about $4 each/100 (at time of publication).
