Puma Technology and Premiere Technologies Alliance Loads Orchestrate on Millions of Devices

Puma Technology Inc. announced an important alliance with Premiere Technologies, Inc. Through Puma's relationships with most major notebook and handheld computer manufacturers, Puma's ``IntelliSync for Orchestrate'' will be loaded on millions of notebooks and handheld devices. In return, Puma will receive a percentage of revenue generated by each Orchestrate customer who uses the software.

A key aspect of the alliance centers on the development work to be done by Premiere and Puma to make Premiere's Orchestrate service compatible with Puma's highly popular IntelliSync software product. The IntelliSync product family allows users to synchronize calendar, address book and other pertinent information on handheld mobile computing and other smart devices with related information on a desktop PC. Orchestrate is an Internet-based ``personal workspace'' that manages incoming and outgoing e-mails, faxes, voice-mails, and pages, and enhances all of those services with the power and convenience of on-line contact management.

Orchestrate users can customize their own personal workspace and access it from the World Wide Web. New Orchestrate subscribers will be able to immediately populate their personal workspace using their existing contact information contained in any popular PIM or GroupWare product supported by IntelliSync for Notebooks, such as Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Organizer, Symantec ACT!, and many others. The companies expect the initial offering resulting from the alliance will be available in the first quarter of 1998.

Puma plans to offer Orchestrate services directly to its end users by incorporating the Orchestrate translation capability directly into its IntelliSync for Notebooks and other IntelliSync products. IntelliSync end users will be able to subscribe to the Orchestrate services from the IntelliSync software already pre-installed on their notebook computers via the World Wide Web. Puma's customers include AT&T(PocketNet) AST, Compaq, Fujitsu, Gateway 2000, Hitachi, IBM, Matsushita, Mitsubishi Electronic, Motorola, NEC, Nokia, Samsung, Seiko, Sharp, Texas Instruments and Toshiba.
