Burr-Brown Corporation is a quad, 16-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) featuring the low power, high voltage output, and small size needed in industrial and process control, automatic test equipment (ATE), motor control, and data acquisition systems. Within these applications, the DAC converts a digital signal from a microprocessor into an analog output to precisely control a real-world action. Its industrial voltage output range is suited for both single supply (+15 V) and dual supply (+15 V) applications.
The converter guarantees 16-bit monotonicity from –40°C to +85°C and features low power consumption (40 mW per DAC), fast settling time (10 µs to 0.003%), unipolar or bipolar operation, and programmable reset (mid-scale or zero-scale). It accepts 24-bit serial input data, has double-buffered DAC input logic (allowing simultaneous update of all DACs), and provides a serial data output for daisy-chaining multiple DACs. The conveter is priced from $29.58 each/1000 (pricing at time of publication) and is packaged in a 48-lead SSOP. Delivery is from stock.
