Radio Frequency Investigation Ltd (RFI) has completed its first Bluetooth software qualification on behalf of Brain Boxes expanding its portfolio of Bluetooth product listings. RFI has now listed hardware and protocol software products for Cambridge Silicon Radio, Uniwill and Frontline and has the first fully validated RF protocol profile test platform. Brain Boxes specialises in the manufacture of PC add-on cards suitable for mission critical applications, the Bluetooth software will be incorporated into its PCMCIA Bluetooth Card, Compact-Flash Bluetooth Card and its USB Bluetooth Adaptor.

Peter Gray, Brain Boxes' business development manager, commented on the contract and stressed the importance of a pro-active partner. "Product development is our life-blood, it was vital to us that we found a partner who was able to deliver a demonstrable, practical and cost- effective service. We were impressed by RFI's eagerness to work on our behalf and their credibility as both a BQB and a BQTF. It has been a learning experience with both parties working together through any difficulties and developing practical solutions - the essence of partnership. The fact that we have been able to establish this kind of working relationship with a UK company is a bonus."

Martyn Hopkins of RFI added, "We are in a position to offer our customers a full Bluetooth service and the market for these services is now growing. Last month we saw an unprecedented level of Bluetooth enquiries both for our testing and qualification services."
