Sipex Introduces Fast 40Mbps, 3V RS-422 Quad Driver/Receiver Pair
Sipex Corporation, designer and manufacturer of high-performance analog semiconductors for the data communications and networking markets, today announced the immediate availability of its SP431/32 – a fast differential quad line driver (60Mbps) and receiver (40Mbps) that operate from a 3Vsupply - the newer, low power supply bus of choice in telecommunications and networking equipment. The SP431/32 fully comply with the TIA/EIA-422B and ITU-T V.11 industry standards. The SP431 driver can support up to 10 receivers on a multi-point bus at distances of 4,000 feet.
"The availability of the new SP431/32 driver receiver pair extends Sipex' portfolio of serial transceivers beyond the core 3V and 5V RS-232 and RS-485 products," said David Lee, Director of Sipex Interface Product Line. "The SP431/32 quad driver/receiver pair gives customers a means to achieve data rates beyond the industry standard while maintaining low power operation."
About the SP431/432:
The SP431 and SP432 are a 3V, RS-422 quad differential line driver and receiver pair with common ENABLE logic control and high impedance outputs for fail safe operation under open circuit conditions. The pair is capable of transmitting and receiving data at up to 40 Mbps on a multi-point bus line up to 4,000 feet in length. Large common mode voltage ranges on both ICs along with the quad receivers built in input hysteresis, minimize false data transmission.
About Sipex:
Sipex Corporation designs, manufactures and markets value-added, high-performance, analog integrated circuits using standard mixed-signal and dielectrically isolated BiCMOS wafer process technologies.
The company markets over 750 products in three core product areas: power management, interface and analog displays. The power management product group includes low drop out linear regulators, DC to DC switching regulators and controllers, charge pumps, and microprocessor supervisors. The interface product group contains RS-232, RS-422, RS-485 and high speed, differential transceivers, along with dual and multi-protocol transceivers. The analog display product group consists primarily of electroluminescent display drivers for backlighting small- to medium-sized LCD displays.
The company is headquartered in Billerica, Massachusetts and has manufacturing facilities in Massachusetts and California.
