SMART Modular Technologies Announces ISO 9002 and BABT Quality Certification for Puerto Rico Facility

SMART Modular Technologies, Inc.pany%> announced today that the Company's Aguada, Puerto Rico manufacturing facility has received recommendation for ISO 9002 certification from TUV Management Service. Along with ISO 9002, SMART has also received recommendations for BABT 340 certification, which is given for production quality assurance of telecom products, and BABT 440 certification, which is given for product safety and safety compliance in the production of telecom products, from the British Approvals Board for Telecommunications (BABT).

ISO 9002 defines all facets of a quality management system. The certification process includes management review, contract review, process control, inspection, internal audit, corrective action, document control, calibration, traceability, records, training and statistical techniques.
