Suntron SystemsNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) CompactPCI Alarm Board features redundant network interfaces, and has a single slot 6U design that fits into a standard CompactPCI chassis. It provides high-level monitoring of fans, thermistors and power supplies. Any fault condition can be configured to set a minor, major, or critical alarm condition to determine if any action, such as system shutdown or alternative system activation, is necessary.

The board is suited for CompactPCI systems deployed in telecommunications, datacommunications and internet applications. It supports one or two SNMP v1/v3 processor engines. User-definable alarm thresholds can be set via SNMP and the alarm signals are routed to the board through the backplane.

Alarm conditions can be monitored locally or from any remote location.
On-site system service can be accomplished with local status LEDs identifying faulty hardware. Distant service operations can analyze and diagnose problems with remote access to the alarm board using SNMP.
Additionally, the chassis can be remotely power cycled using a serial or SNMP command. This is useful in the event of a software failure, which can cause system lockup and require power cycling.
