Signal Transformer Co., Inc./Insilco Technologies Groupd iron toroidal inductors are for applications requiring low EMI in small packages. With height ranges from 0.55 in. to 1.6 in., these circuit board-mount inductors can be used for switch-mode power supply applications, EMI filters, output filter chokes, and as general purpose energy storage devices. The inductors feature air gaps that are inherently distributed in the powdered iron cores. These gaps reduce material permeability and increase energy storage capabilities. The inductors are designed for a 30° temperature rise in still air when loaded to rated DC current at 40 kHz. Designed with single-layer windings, toroids include hot solder pre-tinned leads for fast circuit board assembly. Devices are available over an inductance range of 22µH to 450 µH with DC current carrying capability up to 10 A. Price ranges from 45-cents to $1.35 each/10,000 (pricing at time of publication).
