Vishay Intertechnology Introduces New Automotive-Grade Precision Thin Film Chip Resistor Laboratory Sample Kits

AEC-Q200-Qualified Prototyping Aids Provide Every Fourth Value of E-96 Series in MCW 0406 and MCT 0603 Packages

Malvern, PA (Marketwired) - Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced that the company is now offering laboratory sample kits of its automotive-grade precision thin film chip resistors. The MCW 0406 AT (LCW AT 96/4) and MCT 0603 AT (LCT AT 96/4) kits aid engineers in prototyping, and speed time to market in a wide range of electronic systems.

The two new Vishay Beyschlag sample kits released today offer roughly 100 of the most popular resistance values in the 0406 and 0603 case sizes, respectively, with 0.1 % tolerance and temperature coefficient of 25 ppm/K. Each kit offers 20 resistors for every fourth value of the E-96 series, with resistance ranges from 47 ohms to 100 kilohms for the MCW 0406 AT (LCW AT 96/4) and 47 ohms to 511 kilohms for the MCT 0603 AT (LCT AT 96/4).

The AEC-Q200-qualifed resistors (qualification pending for the MCW 0406 package) are enclosed in cardboard tape on clearly labeled six-ring A5 binder pages, sorted in ascending order of resistance value. The MCW 0406 AT (LCW AT 96/4) and MCT 0603 AT (LCT AT 96/4) supply a total of 1,600 and 1,960 resistors, respectively, giving engineers the freedom to experiment until they've found the perfect fit for their designs.

Built on advanced thin film technology, Vishay's precision chip resistors deliver accurate and stable performance for precision amplifiers in automotive and industrial electronics; sensors and scales; telecommunication base stations; and medical equipment. With high power capability of 0.250 W and 0.150 W at +70 °C, respectively, typical applications for the MCW 0406 AT (LCW AT 96/4) and MCT 0603 AT (LCT AT 96/4) include engine control units, gearbox controls, climate control, and safety and power supply systems; and battery management, measurement control, and steering technology.

The devices included in the sample kits are RoHS-compliant and offer lead (Pb)-free solder terminations. The MCT 0603 AT (LCT AT 96/4) is approved according to EN 140401-801.

The sample kits are available now, with typical lead times of three weeks.
