Rio de Janeiro -- Wavecom, Inc., the US subsidiary of Wavecom SA today announced a partnership with Sao Paulo, Brazil-based distributor Premier Technical Sales, Inc. do Brasil Ltda. The partnership extends Wavecom's reach throughout Latin America, providing OEMs and device manufacturers in the region access to a broad range of industry-leading wireless technology solutions. Premier Technical Sales will provide sales and distribution services, as well as customer support for Wavecom's line of integrated GSM/GPRS and CDMA WISMO modules, modems and other elements of Wavecom's Development Labs. The partnership announcement is made in conjunction with the GSM Americas Congress taking place in Rio de Janeiro November 20 – 21, 2003.

Premier Technical Sales has focused marketing of Wavecom offerings on the automotive and machine-to-machine (M2M) markets, with particular emphasis on customers in Brazil and Mexico. Wavecom's wireless modules and modems are especially important for companies developing products for wireless M2M and automotive applications. While many of these OEMs and manufacturers do not wish to sustain an in-house legacy expertise in RF systems design and implementation, they are able to effectively outsource development of the GSM & CDMA sub-systems through integration of WISMO modules or modems from Wavecom. Moreover, in addition to these hardware platforms, the Wavecom Development Labs provide all of the software, development tools and services needed to create and launch innovative wireless products.

"Wavecom offers companies in Latin America a strong portfolio of innovative, cost-effective wireless solutions," said Isidro Martinez, director, Latin America, Premier Technical Sales. "Premier is pleased to supply Wavecom's Development Labs to markets and applications that are a perfect fit for this technology."

"Premier Technical Sales is the kind of organization Wavecom needs on the ground in Latin America," said David McCartney, vice president of marketing and business development, Wavecom, Inc. "Premier has done an excellent job establishing an international network that meets the needs of its customers and expands market share for its partners. We are pleased to be a part of that network and look forward to a fruitful, long-term relationship in which Wavecom and Premier Technical Sales will meet the wireless technology needs of OEMs and device manufacturers throughout Latin America."
