PRT side entry heat shrinkable tubing provides a means of repairing damaged wire and cable insulation or adding secondary protection to in-service electrical systems
PRT side entry heat shrinkable tubing provides a means of repairing damaged wire and cable insulation or adding secondary protection to in-service electrical systems without the need to remove or disassemble the associated electrical connectors and end hardware. PRT tubing combines the advantages of high performance Mil-I-23053/5 Polyolefin heat-shrinkable tubing with the installation ease and convenience of Zippertubing's classic side entry products. PRT can eliminate the need to stock specialty high expansion ratio heat shrink tubing for applications where connector removal is not possible or desirable. PRT allows the user to add localized chemical, environmental, and mechanical protection to in-service wire and cables assemblies. PRT is also an excellent method for providing identification labeling to wires, cables, pneumatic and hydraulic lines. PRT is easily hot stamped and with the addition of colors can provide a wide range of identification possibilities. PRT is installed by simply wrapping the split tubing around the wiring, removing an adhesive release liner and sticking the tubing together to create a continuous tube. A heat gun is used to recover the material in the same fashion as standard, non-split, heat shrinkable tubing.
